Tesla model S P85D was presented at the Detroit Auto Show

AWD Tesla Model S electric car was presented at the recent Detroit Auto Show. The tesla car has the new dual-motor and the performance-oriented P85D. It was unveiled in the end of last year on the Internet and right away attracted lots of attention.

It is the tesla model s sedan with the dual-motor and the 85D. There is an extra drive motor for the front axle and the larger 85- kWh battery pack. Tesla decided that AWD Model S should not come with the 60-kWh battery pack.

Its 470-horsepower rear motor comes with a 221- horsepower front motor. The total is 691 horsepower. It makes this four-door electric tesla car extremely powerful. It can be compared with a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 for power. According to a dyno test, it showed 864 foot-pound of torque. Therefore, this fact will surely affect tesla roadster price.

The P85D is pretty quick. It can make a 0-60 miles per hour time in just 3.2 seconds. This means that Model S tesla car is currently the fastest four-door car. It comes with a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. That is why it cannot match such models as Cadillac CTS-V or, for instance, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.

Its dual-motor system, according to Tesla, adds to the efficiency of the Model S. The newest auto technology was used in its construction. Tesla said that the 85D would be able to make about 295 miles per charge. Alongside with this, the tesla model s can make 275 miles.

Tesla has also introduced an Autopilot system for the model s. It is able to read speed limit signs. It also allows the driver to change a lane by just flicking the turn signal. The company said the whole system in this hybrid car would be much more sophisticated.

There was not a press-conference at Detroit hold by Tesla. However, Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, gave an interview during the Automotive News World Congress.

He made comments about Tesla’s China sales that are lower than expected. Mr. Elon Musk also told that tesla model s price would be quite competitive. He also challenged the Detroit automakers to create more electric cars.
